Seattle Runner Wins Seventh Consecutive Seattle Marathon
(11-28-05) Uli Steidl of Shoreline, WA won his seventh consecutive Seattle Marathon on Sunday, November 27, breaking his own course record in the process. After winning the Portland Marathon in 1997 while running for the University of Portland, Steidl's long distance running career really didn't kick into high gear until 2000 and he's been on the fast track ever since. Just to name a few of his accomplishments, he has five consecutive Vancouver International Marathon titles to his credit - he also won the Bend Marathon in 2004 and 2005, and has continued to dominate the Seattle Marathon year in and year out.
