(3-30-10) This year marks the inaugural running Portland's Cinco de Mayo Half Marathon that will be held in conjunction with the Cinco de Mayo Run and Walk scheduled for Sunday, May 2. According to event producer Aaron Montaglione of Terrapin Events, "This is still the same great party that our participants have come to enjoy over the past few years, but we wanted to add a half marathon distance to the race that we feel will be a real crowd pleaser." The event comes complete with a live Mariachi band, two delicious Redhook beers and great tasting food from Azteca Mexican restaurants after the event.
The addition of the half marathon is also paired with new courses for both the 5k and 10k that are part of the event. The current registration fee for the half marathon is only $35, which is a bargain worth checking out.
